2.Vitamin B1 (Riboflavin)-Beriberi, retarded growth-Vital for digestion, growth and muscle tone and for getting energy from glucose. Reduces pain- Most carbohydrate-rich foods such as bread, flour and potatoes and meat, mil, peas and beans.
3.Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)-Cataract, defective skin patches around mouth and ears-Helps change food into energy-Milk, liver, eggs, and vegetables.
4.Vitamin B4 (Niacin)-Mild anemia, growth of lymph tissues, low count of leucocytes and antibodies, low resistance to infections-Helps body deal with amino acids and form hemoglobin in red blood cells-Most foods, especially liver, cereals, bread, dairy products and eggs.
5. Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)-Pellagra-Help nerves and good for skin and appetite-Lean meat, cereals and bread, eggs, dairy products.
6.Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)-Pernicious anemia-Good for nervous system; and for bone marrow-Dairy products and meat especially liver.
7.Vitamin C (Ascorbic acid)-Scurvy, retarded growth)- Vital for teeth, gums and bones; helps the body fight infection and deal with toxic substances-Citrus fruits, especially
Oranges, lemons and black currants, green vegetables and potatoes.
8.Vitamin D (Calciferol)-Rickets (children) Osteomalacia (adults)-Important for maintaining calcium in blood and bones-Cod liver oil, egg yolk, salmon, butter, and sunlight.
9.Vitamin E (Tocopherol)-Sterility, muscular paralysis-Antioxidant, keeps walls of red blood cells healthy. -Vegetables oils, eggs, nuts, fruits, and green vegetables.
10.Vitamin K (Phylloquinone)-Improper coagulation of blood, improper growth-Vital for blood clotting- Green leafy vegetables, like spinach and tomatoes, soybean and oats.

No of joint-100 (10,000 km of body vessels) Amount of water-70%
Function of heart-To supply pure blood to all part of the body (through arteries)
To collect impure blood from organs (through veins)
Heart beats-70-72/mm in males, 78-82 in females
Blood Cells=Corpuscles, Fluid part=plasma.
RBC is produced in spleen and bone marrow. They have a pigment called hemoglobin, which gives blood its red colour.
WBC is the soldier of body’s defenses system.
Blood Plateletes-Cloting of blood.
Blood grouping-K.Landsteiner in 1900-02, A, AB, B, O.
Normal blood pressure-120/80 mm of hg.
The Respiratory System Consists of organs that deleiver oxygen to the circulatory system for transport to all body cells. It also aids in removing carbondioxide.
The digestive system-The process of converting food into energy giving . It includes mouth, food pipes, stomach, small and large intenstine, rectum and anus and digestive glands like liver and pancrease.
The end product is absorbed throughthe walls of small intenstine and taken into blood. The undigested waste is sent into large intenstine and discharged from the anus. Enzymes like pepsin, rennin, and gastric lipase help to digest the food.
Liver-The largest gland in the human body is liver. Bile juice produced in the liver is stored in the gall bladder. Bile is important agent for digestion, especially fats.
Endocrine or ductless glands-These glands secrete harmones(chemical substances) directly into the instructions from the body.
