General Instructions:
  1. All questions are compulsory.
  2. The Question Paper consists of 30 Questions divided into                                       Two sections A and B.
  3. Use of calculators is not permitted.
Section: A
(one mark each)
1.       Find a if the 17th and 18th terms of the expansion of (2 + a)50 are equal
2.       Find the value of K such that the line joining the points (2, K) and (-1, 3) is parallel to the line joining (0, 1) and (-3, 1).
3.       Three coins are tossed once. Find the probability of getting  at most 2 heads.
4.       Describe the sample space when a coin is tossed four times.
5.       Find the middle term in the expansion of (1 + x)2n, where n is a positive integer
6.       Find the equation of the line that has y intercept 4 and is parallel to the line 2x- 3y =7
Section: B
(Three  mark each)
7.       Find the mean and variance of first n natural numbers.
8.       In a lottery, a person choses six different natural numbers at random from 1 to 20, and if these six numbers match with the six numbers already fixed by the lottery committee, he wins the prize. What is the probability of Winning the prize in the game.
